Dr. Rolf Christensen presents today as Dental Director of the Mountain West AIDS Education and Training Center (MWAETC). MWAETC offers innovative education and training to improve access to care and quality of life for people with or at risk of acquiring HIV.
Dr Christensen holds BS, DDS, and MHA degrees from the University of Washington and teaches there as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine. Current appointments include University of Washington Dental Urgent Care Clinic Director and Director of the third year Oral Medicine Clerkship. He remains active in the UW Inter-professional education program precepting UW Pharmacy students as they rotate through UW School of Dentistry.
He regularly presents topics in patient assessment, oral care of patients with HIV, acute pain management and the role of opioids, and antibiotic stewardship. His audience includes dentists, dental hygienists, physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, and entire medical and dental healthcare teams in a ten-state region.
