Dr. Weinstein is board-certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. Originally from Pittsburgh, Dr. Weinstein earned his Bachelors in Economics, magna cum laude from Columbia University in 2004. He then earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2008. He completed 2 years of General Practice Residency at the Manhattan and Bronx Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals in New York, where he served as chief resident. Afterwards he moved to Seattle, where he received his certificate in Periodontics and earned a Masters of Science degree from the University of Washington in 2013. In 2013, Dr. Weinstein was awarded the prestigious Balint Orban Memorial Award for his research on Peri-implantitis. His research has been presented at the Academy of Osseointegration and his surgical work has been featured in the textbook “Soft Tissue Management: the Restorative Perspective." Dr. Weinstein has published articles about soft tissue grafting and dental implants in multiple peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Periodontology, the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Clinical Advances in Periodontology, and Periodontology 2000 and is a peer reviewer for the British Medical Journal. Dr. Weinstein is co-owner of Advanced Periodontics, Microsurgery and Implantology of Seattle.
