Radiographic Pathology: Interpreting Images in 2 & 3 Dimensions

This case-based review of dental imaging will introduce the participants to common dental imaging findings seen on both 2D and 3D images; focus will be provided to help the participants identify, describe and make management and/or referral decisions when abnormalities or pathologic findings are identified.
Learning Objectives:
Recognize clinical and imaging abnormalities, develop a differential diagnosis, and document these in the health record.
Perform biopsy or assure biopsy of concerning lesions is accomplished through referral to specialists of higher echelons of care.
Order and interpret appropriate laboratory or imaging studies or assure that these are accomplished through referral to specialists of higher echelons of care.
Develop and execute a management plan consistent with the clinical, imaging, biopsy, laboratory and/or consult and referral reports.
