We evaluate the need for Occlusal guards, Sleep Appliances and Orthotics and then look deeper into the causes of the parafunctional habits, face pain and headaches. We will discuss current research with exercise based therapy, and massage therapy as well as how the dysfunctional tongue plays a critical role in not only TMJ pain but overall body function. Students will have a better understanding of whole body functional awareness, and having open discussion as to the "why this is happening" with their patients.
